Balmain Sneakers
JULY 2019

#BALMAINSNEAKERS
Olivier Rousteing's latest Balmain men's show featured the designer's unique take on the oversized slouchy silhouette of the '90s, blended together with a large helping of rock's toughest snarls. Set directly below the tapering pants of the largely monochromatic offering were the house's equally rebellious sneaker styles, with the selection making clear to every attentive front-row fashion editor that Rousteing is intent on pushing his sneaker designs in a new direction, one which clearly reflects the self-assured styling of his generation's urban nonconformists.

BALMAIN ARMY
Tying in with the overarching theme, the collection is inspired by military footwear with the hero silhouette titled the Troop sneaker boot. As described by Balmain's creative director Olivier Rousteing, "It's going to be the definition of the army sneaker, a true military sneaker."
Olivier Rousteing
"IT'S GOING TO BE THE DEFINITION OF THE ARMY SNEAKER,
A TRUE MILITARY SNEAKER."
